Warm Water Temperatures

WARM WATER TEMPERATURES are delightful for beachgoers but also affect marine life. Back bay waters have been in the 70s and 80s for most of the summer, which has caused most flounder to move to the inlets or ocean, seeking cooler water. Offshore species, such as mahi-mahi, arrived earlier this summer than normal, as they are accustomed to the warmer water temperatures we’ve experienced all season.
